CREPE MYRTLES…are a beautiful tree of many varying sizes and colors. Has anyone in Dallas noticed the exceptional colors this year? You can’t drive too far without seeing the pinks, whites, reds and purples. Of all the varieties, my personal favorite is the Dallas Red. What is about this year? Incredible blossoms and colors! They seem to jump out at you everywhere. Or is it just my imagination? Don’t think so!
What made them so special and fruitful this season? The rains we have experienced so far have usually come in the form of thunderstorms. Greenskeepers will tell you that the nitrogen generated by the lightening affords very effective results. It’s not just water; it’s nitrogen filled water. You may be surprised to learn that the earth’s atmosphere is 78% nitrogen.
Dads, you need to be that ‘nitrogen producing’ additive to your family. When the storms arise in your family, do they wreak havoc or because of you, they are turned into life changing, life producing energy? Without your presence and leadership, the family will not function as designed. I know you want your children and marriage to flourish, just as beautifully as these crepe myrtles.
Families without the father influence are more likely to be undernourished in numerous ways. Even with the vast amount of nitrogen in the air, the soil does not benefit without there being a catalyst through which it is enriched. Same with the family! You are that catalyst. God has ordained the plant growth process and has provided the necessary elements for vibrant growth. Dad, so too has he ordained you and provided the necessary assets for you to succeed and your family to prosper in every way.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (II Tim. 3.16,17).
He loves seeing his beautiful creation thrive. And you and your children are far greater to him that the plants. The next time you experience a storm, just reflect on the chemical process that is taking place. May it remind you of who you are in your family. That much needed ‘nitrogen’!
